Sindhudurg District Traveling in Sindhudurg is the great expiriance. Beautiful beaches, Malvani food, Historic places, culture,etc. There are eight talukas in district Sindhudurg. Out it of it there i.e. Deogad, Malvan Vengurla are on the seabank Vaibhawadi, kudal, Kankawali Sawantwadi Dodamarg are at the foot of Sahyadri.This district is declared as a Tourism District. Mumbai Goa highway goes through this district via Kharepatan, Kankawali, Oros, Kudal Sawantwadi Banda. Konkan railway is also going through this district the main railway stations are Vaibhawadi, Tarale, Nandgaon, Kankawali, kasal, Oros, Kudal and Sawantwadi.
Evening is a magical time on these beaches.As the sun nears the horizon, the beach will bath in a golden glow.Don't lose a moment quickly take some pictures of the sea.The scenic drive along the coastline is blessed with sheer beauty.The coastal strip of land is surrounded by the Sahyadri mountains on the east the Arabian sea on the west.
The best way to enjoy the Sindhudurg backwaters is to take a cruise on a houseboat. Another way to enjoy is a boat ride into the high sea. Both these ways means enjoy your selves immensely.
There are many other attractions in the district like forts, temples, caves,so on. The best Konkani food is another attraction. The trip of Sindhudurag is never complete unless you get a chance to witness the vibrant dances interesting rituals of Konkani people
How to go
By Road: National highway No. 14 winds through this district touching important places like Kankavali, Sawantwadi and Kudal. State transport buses are available to many spots in the district.
By Train: The world-famous Konkan railway, one of the miracles achieved by Indian Railways, by itself is worth ti call a beautiful thing. This railway, woth its modern amenities, has centered to the taste of tourists. This tailway halts at three important stations vis. Kanakavli, Kudal and Sawantwadi. Rajapur and Kudal respectively are the nearest railheads on Konkan Railway. Sindhudurg by road is 510 kms. from Mumbai vis the Goa highway.
