About 43 km away from Peermade is the famous Periyar wildlife Sanctuary. It has elephants, tigers, sambhar and many other animals, which attract people from all over. Many say that you may actually spot some of these animals in the grasslands of Peermade. Some of these are, Monkeys, Languor and Bison.
About 4kms from Peermade are the Thrissanku hills, which is a great place to go on long walks and enjoy the beautiful sunset and sunrise.
