Malda is a city in the state of west Bengal of India. It has a special significance in the Indian history. The existence of this city has been from the time of the great Mauryan Empire. Since then, it has always been a prominent place known for the base of the political power.

Tourist places in Malda :-
Malda is dotted with many historical and religious sites. The focal point of tourism in Malda is centred on the Gaur and Pandua region. Gaur is a historical site of Malda housing a number of mosques built during the Muslim era in Malda. Relics of the mosques like Dakhil Darwaja, Bara Sona Mosque, Lattan Mosque and Rasul Mosque are popular destinations. The artistic curves on the mosque wall represent the traditional art of the Muslims.

Gomti Gate and Firoz Minar are other two popular attractions in Malda. Tourists also visit Pandua, which is significant as an archaeological site. The place also features age-old Muslim architecture. The Adina Masjid is also a noteworthy site, famed as one of the largest mosques of India. The structure of the mosque bears social importance as it represents equal importance to the Muslims and Hindus in the region. The Eklakhi mausoleum is another notable tourist spot of Malda.

Travel Information :-
Malda is directly connected by the main railway line to Kolkata ( 334 km ) and New Jalpaiguri (233 km ). There are buses to Silliguri for Darjeeling, Berhampore, Murshidabad and Kolkata
