Kondeshwar Temple
Shri Kondeshwar Temple, an ancient elegant temple, is located on the hilly forest range of Pohara nearby Kamshet. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple also encloses many small shrines around the main sanctum sanctorum. The temple premises offer a scenic view with the green dense forests all around. Mahashivaratri is a festival conducted here attracting many devotees from all the state.
In rainy season this is must visit place, surronding is very beuatiful and there is huge waterfall behind this temple. According to villagers Shivaji Maharajn often used to come here for rest while travelling .
The temple is a specimen structure of ancient Hemadpanthi architectural style constructed with beautifully carved black stones. One attraction very close to the temple is the revered place of Shri Khateshwar Maharaj Samadhi.
How to reach :-
By Air:
Nearest major airport is Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, which is nearly 110 km from Kamshet. Mumbai (Bombay) is well connected to all major cities in India and also connected to many cities abroad. Taxi services are the one direct travel possibility from Mumbai to Kamshet. It costs about Rs 2000. Pune domestic airport is 60 km away from Kamshet.
By Train:
Nearest railhead is Lonavala railway station in the Konkan railway region. It is connected to Mumbai and Goa. From the railway station to Kamshet is about 16 km and it costs nearly Rs 300 by Taxi.
By Bus:
Many Maharastra Government public buses are operating between Kamshet and many cities nearby. Tourist Volvo buses are regular between Mumbai and Kamshet (110 km) and Pune to Kamshet (60 km). It costs about Rs 400 to Mumbai and Rs 200 to Pune.
