The Elephant's Head Point is one of the best points to be visited in Mahabaleshwar. The cliffs which overhang resemble an elephant's head and trunk. Thus the point got its name as the Elephant's Head Point.The point renders breathtaking views of the surroundings. The mountain range of Sahyadri is also visible from this point and it is bewitching to watch.

The tourists and the visitors should take a pony ride or walk from the parking area to the spot.The Elephant's Head Point is beyond the Lodwick Point. The Elephant's Head Point is the extreme end of the mountain range.It is situated just below Lordwick's Point; 6 km to the west of Mahabaleshwar.

The Elephant's Head point is a cliff that hangs and joined in a shape of elephant's head and resembles that of pachyderm's trunk and head. Elephant's head bursts with seam with tourist not just for the structural magic rather the natural bonnies it proffers to the visitors.

On one side of the point are seen peaks of Sahyadri ranges and on the other side Lordwick's Point. Elephant's Head spans 800 m in length and 6 km in breadth. The village of Jawali and Pratapgarh is visible from the point. Additionally, taking pony ride is an excellent holiday idea here.

How To Reach

Pune is the nearest airport both for Mahabaleshwar (120 km and Panchgani (98 km). For Mahabaleshwar, the nearest railhead is Wathar (62 km) but Pune (120 km) is the convenient railhead.From Bombay via Pune, Mahabaleshwar is 290 km and via Mahad it is 247 km.
