Ankai and Tankai Forts ---:

Actually this Ankai-Tankai are twin forts which are side by side located in Ankai village in Nasik Distric. This Ankai is near to Manmad. These two forts are small but beautiful. These forts are in the range of Chanwad and it is 8 km away from Manmad.

Points of Attrction on Ankai and Tankai Fort :----

There are 5 caves, 7 water tanks, an arched enclosure at the end of the fort with a huge pond, Dargah etc. The Fortification walls and entrance are still in a very good condition. While Tankai fort contains a lake and Mahadev Mandir, ruins of the construction and a bastion. These two forts captured by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in 1635. Also there are lots of things are points of atrraction.

How to go there: ----

There are number of buses and trains from Mumbai to Manmad. Then from Manmad the Ankai village is on the 8 km away. From Ankai to Ankai fort distance takes half and hour to reach there.
